What does the job function entail?
We’re looking for a senior developer ready to take the lead—someone who thrives at the intersection of architecture, DevOps, product thinking, and handson coding. As Lead Developer for Simplifier, you’ll guide the technical evolution of a live, widely used FHIR platform, while still writing code yourself. This is what you’ll be doing
- Own the architecture
Youre the goto person for backend design and longterm technical direction for the rest of the development team. You’ll make calls on infrastructure, performance, scaling, and security. - Design and develop with the future in mind. Being able to look a few years ahead to market changes and thinking through how to design Simplifier in a way that we can bring it to market.
- Code, ship, and improve. Development is still 50%+ of this role. You’ll work on complex features and foundational tooling. You initiate R&D in line with the product direction.
- Shape the roadmap. Work with the product manager and support team to turn feature requests and customer needs into real solutions and prioritization. You can unify shortterm value client requests and needs with longterm design and development of Simplifier.
- Audits and discussions around quality requirements. You’ll be involved in audits and feature requests related to regulatory compliance rules from our main markets. You will help the product manager to make sure that our changing product remains aligned with these requirements as our product grows.
- Stay handson in DevOps
Together with our DevOps team, you manage a live Azure cloud setup, including scaling, cost control and incident response. You know how to solve issues in the infrastructure if they occur. Who are we looking for?
This isn’t just about managing a backlog. It’s about shaping a product you believe in, collaborating with a sharp and experienced team, and solving problems that matter—to users, to clients, and to the future of digital health.
- Experience as a leadsenior developer in a live production environment.
- Strong backend and architectural skills (We’re using .NET, SQL Server and related Azure services).
- Comfort with agile processes and balancing roadmap vs. tech debt.
- Being able to help the product manager to prioritize requests and formulate a roadmap that will keep our product healthy and competitive.
- (Bonus) Familiarity with FHIR, health IT standards, and an interest in continuous learning
- (Bonus) Understanding of infosec, compliance, or accessibility concerns
What we offer:
- Job: A key role within a growing scaleup in Amsterdam.
- Compensation: A competitive salary ranging from €6,000 to €7,000 per month (based on a 40hour workweek).
- Travel: A NS Business card 1st class to travel to the office.
- Location: A modern, centrally located office in the heart of Amsterdam.
