Job Summary:
We are seeking a detailed-oriented onsite* Staff Accountant to join our global finance team in Dallas, Texas. The Staff Accountant will be responsible to assist with various accounting tasks and reconciliations. This role presents an excellent opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit work and looking to contribute their skills to a mission-driven organization.
*Opportunity to work from home 2-3 days per week.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare journal entries, including month-end and year-end accruals, by maintaining records and reconciling accounts
Prepare a variety of reconciliations of bank, investment, and other asset and liability accounts
Research and correct account discrepancies
Support the month-end and year-end close
Prepare various year-end schedules for the annual audit
Assist in the completion of the annual filing of the IRS Form 990 and any other required government filing
Respond to questions or corrections from other departments
KSAs (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices, preferably for nonprofit organizations
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems
Ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data
Attention to detail
Analytical thinking
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting or Business Administration, but experience in the field will be considered
Experience in an accounting role using accounting software, preferably NetSuite.
Paid Position Information:
$55,000- $65,000 per year
