About the Business Intelligence Engineer Role

As a Business Intelligence Engineer at Cerula Care, youll be at the heart of our mission to transform behavioral health outcomes for people living with cancer. Youll work closely with our clinical, operations, customer success, and product teams to turn data into actionable insights that directly impact member care and business growth. In this role, youll help us understand how our integrated Collaborative Care Model is performing, identify opportunities to improve member outcomes, and support datadriven decision making across the organization. This is a unique opportunity to build BI capabilities from the ground up at a seedstage startup where your work will have immediate, meaningful impact on both our members lives and our companys trajectory.

What you will do as Cerula Care’s Business Intelligence Engineer

• Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports that track key clinical and business metrics across our Collaborative Care Model
• Partner with clinical leadership to develop meaningful KPIs that measure member behavioral health outcomes and care team effectiveness
• Conduct deepdive analyses to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improving member care and operational efficiency
• Support our outcomes analysis work by creating robust data pipelines and ensuring data quality across multiple systems
• Collaborate with our product and engineering teams to instrument new features and ensure were capturing the right data
• Present insights and recommendations to leadership, translating complex analyses into clear, actionable business strategies
• Help establish data governance practices and documentation as we scale our data infrastructure
• Support regulatory reporting and payer communication with accurate, timely data analysis
• Contribute to our culture of datadriven decision making by democratizing access to insights across the organization

• What is in your background

  • 24 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or related analytical roles
  • Experience designing customer facing dashboards; a keen eye for design and detail
  • Experience at a digital health startup
  • Experience with API integration for data extraction
  • Experience with data warehouse concepts and ETL processes

    • What you bring to this role

      • Proficiency with Apache Superset or similar BI tools
      • Expert in SQL language
      • Experience with Python and GraphQL
      • Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices
      • Experience connecting to various database types (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
      • Ability to identify trends and patterns in complex datasets
