J.D. degree and active law license in the U.S., At least 15 years of legal policy or advocacy experience, with 8+ years in nonprofit advocacy, lobbying, or campaign finance law., Experience providing legal services and representation to nonprofit clients., Strong management skills with a track record of leading and developing teams..

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee the AFJ Law program to provide legal services related to nonprofit advocacy.
  • Manage staff, vendors, and program operations to support program growth.
  • Provide legal research, opinions, and advice on nonprofit laws, including lobbying and election regulations.
  • Build relationships with legal and nonprofit partners to enhance program impact.
