About the Role

Dragonfli Group is seeking a highly experienced Information Technology (IT) Asset Visibility and Security Engineer to support the cybersecurity mission of the United States Postal Service (USPS). This role is focused on enhancing the USPS’s enterprise security posture by implementing asset visibility solutions, strengthening endpoint controls, and supporting ongoing security operations across complex, large-scale IT environments.

You will play a key role in applying security technologies and practices that protect USPS’s connected infrastructure, data, systems, and personnel, while aligning with broader cybersecurity strategy and compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain enterprise-level IT asset visibility tools and processes across USPS systems.
  • Support hardware and software asset inventory efforts, integrating data into broader security operations and compliance reporting.
  • Apply and support security measures including:
  • Network Access Control (NAC)
  • Comply-to-Connect (C2C) / Comply-and-Remain frameworks
  • Vulnerability management
  • Endpoint control and forensic visibility
  • Event monitoring and threat investigation
  • Develop or enhance Splunk dashboards, alerts, and knowledge objects to support IT security use cases.
  • Administer and secure systems running Windows and Linux operating systems across enterprise environments.
  • Use scripting (e.g., Python) to automate data collection, analysis, and system integrations related to asset management and security enforcement.
  • Collaborate with security operations, network teams, and enterprise IT to ensure consistent enforcement of security controls.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise IT cybersecurity, specifically focused on asset visibility and endpoint security.
  • Demonstrated expertise with:
  • Asset inventory/visibility tools and data modeling
  • Armis Centrix or equivalent platforms
  • Network security infrastructure and enterprise-level architecture
  • Splunk (dashboard creation, knowledge object development)
  • Windows and Linux system administration
  • Python scripting and automation workflows
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience working within large, complex enterprise environments (preferably in federal or critical infrastructure sectors).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active or recent certifications such as:
  • CISSP, CISA, CISM, GIAC, RHCE, CPTE, or CEH
  • Familiarity with flowcharting and process documentation tools.
  • Ability to develop and manage project schedules, deployment plans, and documentation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Proven ability to drive adoption of security standards across diverse technical teams.

Work Environment

  • This position supports a high-profile government mission and may require occasional onsite presence depending on project needs.
  • Candidates must reside and remain within the continental United States during the period of performance.
