The Deployment Specialist is responsible for the distribution and installation of products, solutions, integrations, and updates for both new and existing customers, as well as internal employees, across production and test environments. This is a hands-on role requiring strong troubleshooting abilities and the capacity to learn new technologies quickly in order to execute deployment tasks effectively, even when documentation is sparse or technical requirements are ambiguous.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute the deployment, configuration, and and installation of our products, integrations, and updates.
  • Deploy software solutions in both production and test environments, ensuring stability, functionality, and alignment with customer requirements. 
  • Configure and troubleshoot web-based applications in Internet Information Services (IIS) of production and test environments, including XML properties, bindings, SSL certificates, authentication, data sources.
  • Quickly identify and resolve configuration issues that arise during the deployment process.
  • Provides scheduled support as dedicated “point of contact” (weekdays/nights & weekends for example).
  • Identifies and documents bug details for Quality Assurance review.
  • Installs components of SQL, configures user logins and role-based permissions, stored procedures, creates and modifies ODBC connections, creates and modifies maintenance plans, performs backups where applicable and creates and modifies SSIS packages.
  • Assists support team on escalated tickets requiring advanced troubleshooting and product knowledge.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis to ensure smooth installations and minimal disruption.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain deployment schedules and ensure stakeholder communication.
  • Contribute to the development of deployment best practices, ensuring each deployment is executed with precision and attention to detail.
  • Stay current on new software versions, tools, and integrations, to meet evolving deployment requirements.

  • Quick learner who can engage with both technical and non-technical customers and other stakeholders to produce clear documentation and project plans.
  • Experience performing intermediate-level Microsoft Windows Server OS administration.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes to provide best-in-class internal and external customer service.
  • Demonstrates ownership, reliability, and attention to detail; able to self-review work and follow through without close supervision. 
  • Performs job duties and special assignments under general supervision, applying specialized knowledge, training and experience.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years direct or similar experience implementing, troubleshooting, supporting technical integrations, applications and price tapes in several of the above-mentioned technologies is preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in intermediate-level administration of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems.
  • Experience with SQL installation, user login and role-based permission configuration, stored procedure development, ODBC connection management, maintenance plan creation and modification, performing backups, and creating and modifying SSIS packages.
  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent relevant experience
  • Must be available to work weekends. Minimum of 1 weekend a month.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit at a desk, computer terminal or meeting table for a long period of time
  • Ability to use hands and fingers or adoptive equipment to safely operate assigned equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to use telephone frequently for a long period of time, and to hear and speak clearly by telephone

Location and Compensation


Must be local to San Diego County. This is a hybrid-remote role; candidates based in San Diego County are expected to work a minimum of one day per week in the office. The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $95,000 per year, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
