OBJECTIVE:
Identify and recruit candidates who can support the company’s Development & Market Intelligence efforts by researching and building a contact list of companies in the US that are:
Designing a new diagnostic or life science instrument
Planning or preparing for clinical trials
Making relevant financial or fundraising disclosures
KEY DELIVERABLE:
A curated, research-backed list of target companies with decision-makers’ contact information.
SCOPE OF RESEARCH
Industry Focus:
Broad Scope: Diagnostics and Life Sciences companies (including molecular diagnostics, medical devices, assay developers, lab instrumentation companies).
Priority / Laser Focus: Infectious disease diagnostics companies.
Signals / Triggers to Look For:
New product development announcements (especially new instrument or platform design).
Financial disclosures indicating R&D investment or fundraising rounds.
Clinical trial registrations or announcements.
Hiring for clinical roles or R&D/engineering roles (signaling development stage).
Press releases, SEC filings, company websites, investor updates.
Types of Target Companies
Early-stage startups (Series A/B/C) with active development programs.
Mid-size and large diagnostics firms expanding their pipeline.
Life science tools companies developing novel instrumentation.
Academic spin-outs entering commercialization stages.
Target Contacts / Roles
Identify people in roles such as:
VP / Director / Head of R&D
VP / Director / Head of Engineering
Program Managers for product development
Clinical Operations Leads / Directors
Principal Investigators or Study Directors for Clinical Trials
Business Development / Partnerships leads (optional but valuable)
JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
SKILLSET:
Ability to mine financial disclosures, press releases, trial registries.
Strong LinkedIn/Sales Navigator or database search skills.
Comfortable with English-language research on US-based companies.
EXPERIENCE IN:
Conducting market research in diagnostics/life sciences.
Experience compiling B2B contact lists with verified emails and phone numbers.
Ideally healthcare/biotech/life sciences industry experience.
CAN DELIVER:
Excel/CSV sheets with Company Name, Website, Industry, Key Development Trigger (e.g. new instrument design, trial plan), Contact Name, Title, Email, LinkedIn URL, Phone (if available).
Source notes: where/how they confirmed the trigger (press release link, fundraising data,clinicaltrials.gov entry, etc.).
Target of ~50–100 qualified companies in an initial batch, with contacts for each.
ADDITIONAL:
Researcher should be able to work autonomously but align with the company’s BD team on priorities.
Option to scale this work if the pilot is successful.
Researcher must be ethical in sourcing, avoiding scraping where it violates terms of service, but should use all public/legit resources.
Familiarity with tools like Crunchbase, PitchBook, ClinicalTrials.gov, SEC EDGAR, LinkedIn Sales Navigator is a big plus.

We need to accelerate our Business Development outreach by identifying companies likely to need our design, development, regulatory, and clinical trial expertise. The contact list will directly feed into the company’s sales pipeline.
