Position Summary: PG&E is seeking a seasoned SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to support the Service Operations – SQL DB team. This role is 100% remote and ideal for someone who thrives in fastpaced environments, juggles multiple projects with ease, and communicates effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders alike.

The DBA will be responsible for managing SQL Server environments with a focus on high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning. This is a projectbased role that demands strong judgment, technical expertise, and collaboration across IT and business teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide seniorlevel SQL Server database administration across multiple concurrent projects
  • Design, implement, and support AlwaysOn Availability Groups, mirroring, and clustering
  • Perform migrations, upgrades, and performance tuning for SQL Server databases
  • Develop and maintain SSIS packages and database scripts using TSQL and PowerShell
  • Partner with Project Managers and other DBAs to estimate resource needs, identify dependencies, and manage risk
  • Follow established standards for database security, patching, and change management
  • Communicate project status, risks, and technical issues clearly and proactively
  • Maintain open and collaborative communication across crossfunctional teams
  • Ensure database systems are highly available and reliable

  • 5+ years of experience as a Senior SQL Server DBA
  • Handson experience with AlwaysOn Availability Groups
  • Experience with SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery configurations
  • Strong background in performance tuning and query optimization
  • Experience developing with SSIS
  • Skilled in PowerShell and TSQL scripting
  • Experience managing SQL Server migrations and upgrades
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks daily
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working within enterprise IT environments and adhering to compliance protocols
