Job DescriptionWe are looking for an Electrical Engineer specializing in high and extrahigh voltage underground and submarine cables to join our Energy and Resources team.
You will be responsible for the specification, design, installation, and maintenance of high voltage (HV) and extrahigh voltage (EHV) underground and submarine cables, typically operating at 69 kV and above. As part of our passionate Transmission and Distribution (T&D) team, you will benefit from expert guidance and professional development opportunities.
We offer a flexible hybrid work model, allowing you to work from home and from one of our offices. This position can be based anywhere in the province of Quebec, preferably in the metropolitan areas of Montreal, Quebec City, or Sherbrooke.
Primary Responsibilities
- Technical Calculations: Perform technical calculations for HVEHV cable selection, including sizing, rated power, electromagnetic field (EMF) calculations, sheathinduced voltage calculations, and more.
- Design and Specification of HV Cables: Develop specifications and detailed designs for HVEHV cable systems, including cable layout specifications, testing protocols, and technical documentation.
- Technical Support: Provide expertise on all aspects of HV cable engineering and design, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as IEC, IEEE, and CIGRE.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure accurate interfaces and attend meetings with clients and subcontractors.
- Testing and Commissioning: Support factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT), perform technical engineering calculations, and participate in commissioning activities at client sites.

- Knowledge of applicable industry standards such as IEC, IEEE, and CIGRE
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills with a resultsdriven approach
- Team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Experience working with major and leading global cable equipment manufacturers
- Fluency in written and spoken French
- Proficiency in written and spoken English in a professional context in order to work on projects outside Quebec
- Ability and willingness to travel within North America
