The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help design and deliver scalable backend systems that power the UserTesting platform. You’ll play a key role in shaping technical architecture, writing clean, well-tested code, and mentoring others. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build high-impact solutions that make it easier for organizations to understand and connect with their audiences.

Extensive experience in backend software development
Proficiency in TypeScript on Node.js, with experience using gRPC, REST, Kafka, and PostgreSQL
Hands-on experience with DevOps and cloud infrastructure tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, ArgoCD, AWS, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines)
Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices, and serverless architecture
Ability to build and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations
Strong commitment to testing, observability, and performance
Clear, concise technical communication and documentation skills
A collaborative mindset and ability to work well across teams
Experience leading or mentoring engineering peers
Proficiency in Python is a plus
