ABOUT US
The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities. We believe in doing good that transforms lives and futures for the better. It is this belief which drives us to find new ways and places where we can make a difference. From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.
Why this role matters
The Salvation Army is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) services. We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling and withdrawal management services).
About the role
The Salvation Army has launched a new Family, Carers and Friends (FCF) Service in Wagga Wagga, supporting families, carers and friends of people with alcohol and other drug (AOD) issues across NSW. Funded by the NSW Ministry of Health in response to the Ice Inquiry, the service is delivered via telehealth, offering information, education, support and referrals.
We are seeking a values-driven FCF Case Worker to join this new service. The role provides remote support to families and carers, empowering them to assist in their loved one’s recovery, engage in treatment planning, and access their own support. The position ensures a safe, participant-led environment aligned with The Salvation Army’s recovery-based approach.
This is a part-time, permanent position based in Wagga Wagga, with conditions under the SCHADS Award Level 4.
