Job description

The purpose of the position is to be in charge of teaching and academic affairs for the Joint College of Fashion Design of Istituto Marangoni, Zhejiang Sci-Tech University . The Vice Dean of Academic Affairs will jointly develop, review and manage Istituto Marangoni, Zhejiang Sci-Tech University joint Bachelor Degrees’ Program Plan, syllabus, teaching plan, template textbooks and other teaching materials required, and supervise academic teaching content reporting.

In this role, the Vice Dean of Academic Affairs will be working jointly to assist the Joint College Dean in exercising power and fulfilling academic obligations, so as to maintain the running and development of the programs.

The Vice Dean of Academic Affairs of the Joint College shall also serve as Director of the Academic Management Committee, and shall be committed to fully understand and comply with the teaching requirements of both Istituto Marangoni and Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, and the relevant regulations on degree or certificate awarding, and shall implement them in the specific work. The Academic Management Committee meeting shall be held at least once in each semester or at other time as requested by the Joint College.

Key Purpose of the Role

To develop the academic study plan according to the program methodology, in respect of IM education master plan.
To develop the curriculum according to the course objectives in agreement with the Director of Education.
To be responsible for the teaching planning implementation, including academic projects development and management, according to IM Paris, IM Shanghai and ZSTU capabilities and availabilities.
To supervise and evaluate the tutors assigned under the program for their teaching quality.
To be responsible for overall guidance and supervision of course teaching contents updates.
To deliver various courses according to IM Shanghai and IM Paris (including Pre-course preparation).
To guide and support the students in their learning process.
To schedule, monitor and evaluated students’ work and exam with team.
To lead the coordination and communication between ZSTU Sino-French Joint Institute academic service team and IM academic service team for student study support.
To perform duties as a Visiting Tutor of IM group at a worldwide level at the agencies, partnerships or events etc.
To maintain and develop relations with French Embassy/Consulate, other French Institutions, as well as with private partners.
To attend ZSTU Sino-French Joint Institute meeting with Dean and Vice Dean at least 2 times per month.
To attend IM meeting with C.O.O, China & APAC at least 2 times per month

Educational and Professional Skills

Master Degree or above in fashion related fields (design, communications, economics, …) .
Have a rich educational program management experience in fashion, design, communications, related fields of 5 years minimum.
Have good understanding in international education.
Strong ability in communication, coordination and gifted with mature leadership.
English proficiency and French as native speaker.
