About the Position

The HR & Recruiting Generalist is an individual contributor role responsible for supporting the full employee lifecycle and recruitment process across our Budapest office. This role blends hands-on HR operations with technical recruiting, ensuring a seamless experience for candidates and employees alike. You’ll work closely with global HR and recruiting teams, as well as the local Managing Director, while owning local initiatives in compliance, performance, onboarding, and employee engagement.

What You’ll Do

  • Cover Full Employee Lifecycle & Change Management – Administer all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, promotions, payroll, leave management, PTO, offboarding, and organizational transitions.

  • Talent Acquisition – Assist in end-to-end recruitment for technical roles (software engineering), from sourcing through offer.

  • Labor Compliance & Employment Law – Collaborate with legal teams to ensure adherence to local and international labor laws, covering areas such as contracts, GDPR, immigration, and employee separations.

  • Compensation & Benefits – Participate in the management of compensation cycles, conduct salary benchmarking, implement pay adjustments, and negotiate comprehensive benefits packages.

  • Performance & Engagement – Participate in bi-annual and quarterly performance review processes, engagement surveys, and contribute to low attrition rates in the Budapest office.

  • Learning & Development – Coordinate internal and external learning opportunities to support employee growth and retention.

  • Global HR Operations – Partner with HR and recruitment teams across the US, UK, while managing local HR & Recruiting

  • HR Partnership - Facilitate clear and consistent communication between local managers and the HR department to ensure alignment on policies, processes, and employee needs

  • Operative Tasks - Alongside core HR and recruiting responsibilities, this role will collaborate with the Office Manager on various operational tasks to support the smooth functioning of the workplace.

  • Recruiting & HR Tech: Experienced with modern ATS (e.g., Ashby, Kula, Gem), AI-powered sourcing platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, Juicebox, Gem), and HRIS systems (e.g., BambooHR, Rippling, Gusto).

  • People & Performance Tools: Familiar with performance management platforms (e.g., Lattice, Culture Amp) and compensation planning tools (e.g., Pave, Korn Ferry).

  • Workplace Tools: Proficient with collaboration and documentation tools such as G Suite, Microsoft 365, Zoom, and DocuSign.
