Flyhjælp is looking for a Danishspeaking Legal Expert to join our litigation team. Together with our parent company Flightright in Berlin, we help travelers claim compensation from airlines under EU Regulation 2612004 when their flights are delayed, cancelled, or overbooked. Since 2010, more than 11 million people have used our services.
We specialize in the Nordic jurisdictions under our brands:
FLYHJÆLP | FLYGHJÄLP | FLYHJELP | LENTOAPU
… and we have our very own litigation department that handles cases in the Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish courts. We take cases all the way to the Supreme Court or the European Court of Justice if necessary.
We have an ambition to be the best and biggest in the Nordics on air passenger rights.
About the role
This position is ideal for someone who wants handson litigation experience and is confident managing court cases independently. You’ll take ownership of mainly Danish appeals cases, and principal cases from start to finish, including strategy, pleadings, and court appearances (approx. 5–8 per year). You’ll also monitor key case law developments in Denmark and keep the litigation leadership informed.
You will not be handling administrative enforcement (e.g. fogedret), but will focus on legal content, case strategy, and court processes. In the litigation department, you will gain insight into legal method and civil procedure, learn about evidence theory, and how to write short and precise texts.
You will become an expert on air passenger rights!
Expected start date is 1 September 2025. Your mission
- Assessing and managing appeal and principal cases in Danish courts
- Preparing pleadings and legal arguments in court
- Representing the company in court (oral hearings in person)
- Reporting regularly on legal trends, judgments, and ongoing appeals to the Head of Litigation
- Contributing to litigation strategy, case selection, and legal positioning
- Sharing legal insight and best practices with colleagues across the Nordic litigation teams, including assessing lost cases and performing quality control with your colleagues
- Supporting the continuous improvement of our legal workflows and tools
Your profile
- A law degree or equivalent
- Previous litigation experience is not required, but a genuine interest in litigation and court work is essential
- Strong analytical and written skills, and emotional intelligence
- Speaks and writes Danish at a native or nearnative professional level
- Speaks and writes English, as our company language is English
- Confidence in handling legal matters independently and responsibly
- Ability to translate legal issues into clear, concise arguments
- Not afraid to explore new technologies.
- Prefer freedom under responsibility.
- Is interested in work life balance.
- Wants to grow and have fun.
- Has a cando attitude, which is motivating for colleagues and air passengers.
