Job description

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to join our team. The QA Analyst will be responsible for assessing software quality through manual and automated testing. You will ensure that our applications and systems meet our high-quality standards by identifying and reporting bugs and glitches and collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is passionate about improving software quality, possesses strong analytical skills, and is adept at designing test cases that reflect end-user behaviour.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning and Design

  • Analyse project requirements, specifications, and technical design documents.
  • Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Identify test requirements and map them to project requirements.

Testing Execution

  • Perform various testing types, including functional, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Execute manual and automated test cases across different environments (web, API, etc.).
  • Report defects with clear and concise steps to reproduce and track defects to closure.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand application functionality and identify risks.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Provide regular updates on test progress, results, and defect status.

Test Automation

  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Postman, or similar tools.
  • Identify opportunities for test automation to improve efficiency and coverage.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Document testing processes, methodologies, and results to ensure knowledge transfer and future reference.
  • Generate test summary reports, highlighting key findings and areas of concern.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with industry standards and company policies.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance the QA process.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in testing tools and methodologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a QA Analyst, Software Tester, or similar role.
  • Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and processes.
  • Proficiency in test management tools such as TestRail, or qTest.
  • Experience with both manual and automated testing techniques.
  • Familiarity with automation tools like Selenium, Postman, or similar.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like PHP, JavaScript, Python, or Java is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g.GitLab CI).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • ISTQB certification or similar QA credentials.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English. French is a plus.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Test coverage and defect detection rate.
  • Time to identify and report critical defects.
  • Efficiency in executing automated test scripts.
  • Contribution to process improvements in QA workflows.
