This is a remote role that aligns with Eastern Standard Time. It is a Monday through Friday, 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM schedule.
This position is primarily responsible for processing and assimilating customer data to support the movement of goods between Canada and the US.
Job Responsibilities:
Serves as the customer service liaison between the company and the customer(s)
Resolves problems (i.e. billing, tracing shipments) and handles customer concerns. Builds relationships with customers.
Processes Custom and PGA (Participating Government Agency) entries for clearance of goods into the United States
Ensures compliance with regards to U.S. Government regulatory agencies such as FDA, EPA, USFWS, etc.
Maintains communication with customers, carriers, and vendors
Stays up-to-date on regulations, laws, guidelines, and Deringer requirements. Acts as a resource to internal and external clients.
Handles accounting processes accurately and in a timely manner
Ensures email and telephone calls are promptly and professionally answered
Handles confidential information. May instruct colleagues and is expected to make recommendations to improve processes and the functioning of the department and/or company
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
2+ year(s) of previous Import Specialist experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of PGAs
Previous experience with CMUS and e2Open
