Job description

This is a remote position.

Our client is looking for a Web Infrastructure & Support Lead to join their fast-paced digital team. Operating in the home services marketing industry, they have built a strong reputation by helping HVAC and plumbing companies grow through innovative digital strategies. In recent years, they’ve significantly expanded their client base and service offerings, becoming a go-to name in the digital marketing space for contractors.
Responsibilities
  • Lead server environment management, hosting configurations, and website optimization.

  • Ensure technical reliability, security, and high performance of WordPress sites.

  • Oversee and execute updates for WordPress core, plugins, PHP, and MySQL.

  • Resolve issues proactively and maintain structured update logs in platforms like Asana.

  • Act as the first responder to urgent website issues, minimizing downtime and client disruption.

  • Design and manage real-time performance monitoring using tools like UptimeRobot, Mailgun, and WP Activity Log.

  • Manage internal and client support tickets, ensuring timely, accurate resolutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and quality standards.

  • Participate in platform migrations, special projects, and quick-turnaround builds.

  • Provide pre-sales support by evaluating potential client websites for feasibility and risk.

  • Mentor junior team members and help standardize best practices across the web team.



Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Solid experience managing and maintaining WordPress websites at an infrastructure level.
  • Familiarity with PHP, MySQL, cPanel, hosting services, and version control tools.
  • Strong understanding of security, backups, and performance optimization.
  • Experience setting up or managing monitoring/alert systems.
  • Ability to triage and resolve support tickets with clarity and accountability.
  • 3–5+ years in a similar WordPress support or infrastructure role.
  • Strong communication skills, especially in remote environments.
  • Proficiency in managing server environments (VPS, shared hosting, cloud hosting).
  • Experience working with project tracking systems (e.g., Asana, Jira).
  • Comfortable with Slack and fast-paced async communication.
