WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join a critical modernization initiative for a leading mortgage provider. This is a unique opportunity to support one of the industry’s most transformative projects as it moves from legacy platforms to modern data architecture. The ideal candidate has strong SQL skills, experience with mortgage or securities data, and the ability to work across technical and business teams to ensure data continuity and readiness.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Reporting to our Resource Manager, as a Full-Time Specialist on our team, you will be responsible for creating lean business cases, managing the project intakes from the business, and conducting discovery analysis. You will engage with our client’s stakeholders to gather requirements and provide insights that support strategic decision-making. Your work will be integral in ensuring that the organization’s portfolio is effectively managed from the point of idea generation through to prioritization and resource allocation, setting the stage for successful project execution and delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong SQL skills for data querying, transformation, and validation
Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
Experience with loan data, GSEs, or mortgage-backed securities (MBS)
Proven ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
Experience working in fast-paced, enterprise environments
Experience supporting data transformation or migration projects
Familiarity with XML and JSON data formats is preferred.
Proficiency in Python and scripting for data manipulation is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analyze and interpret data across legacy and modern repositories
Perform forensic data analysis to trace lineage and understand transformation logic
Translate and document data transformation logic for accuracy and transparency
Write, optimize, and explain complex SQL queries for data extraction and validation
Utilize Excel and scripting tools (e.g., Python) to manipulate and automate data processes
Interpret structured data formats including JSON and XML
Support internal teams (e.g., Finance) with new data schema adoption
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and data teams to align data requirements
