Position Summary The Senior Accountant will possess a deep understanding of general accounting functions, Procure-To-Pay cycle, cash application, month-end close, and audit working papers, as well as experience managing offshore teams. This position requires expertise in financial reporting, strong leadership and mentoring abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and streamlining processes across departments.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee general ledger accounting, including preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and conducting variance analysis.
Manage the monthly and annual financial close procedures, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with established deadlines.
Review and analyze financial statements to ensure they are accurate, complete, and compliant with GAAP and company policies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Assist in preparing audit schedules and provide necessary documentation to auditors, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit process.
Continuously improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Manage and optimize accounting systems and workflows, including assisting in projects related to system implementations and upgrades.
Ensure adherence to internal controls and other regulatory standards.
Provide mentorship and training to staff accountants and offshore teams, including managing and coordinating tasks for the offshore team in India, fostering growth and development.
Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring consistent quality and compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred. CPA certification preferred but not required.
5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a SaaS and technology environment.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
Experience with ERP systems such as Sage Intacct.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
