Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to support the development, optimization, and maintenance of a cloud-hosted infrastructure platform supporting healthcare program oversight and performance monitoring. This role will focus on infrastructure design, cloud operations, and data security for a multi-agency solution handling sensitive healthcare data. You will collaborate with backend developers, analysts, and data managers to ensure uptime, scalability, and secure operations of cloud-based systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services in a secure and scalable manner
  • Support the deployment and hosting of applications and databases used for analytics and reporting
  • Implement cloud monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure availability and performance
  • Manage user access, roles, and data security controls, including PHI/PII protection
  • Assist with DevOps practices, including automation of deployments, backups, and patching
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot infrastructure issues and recommend improvements
  • Ensure systems meet compliance standards and follow industry best practices for healthcare and government environments

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP infrastructure services
  • Expertise in virtual networking, load balancing, compute/storage services, and identity management
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates)
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipeline tools
  • Understanding of data encryption, key management, and access control mechanisms
  • Experience supporting cloud environments that host regulated data (e.g., HIPAA, FedRAMP, NIST frameworks)

Preferred:

  • Experience in state Medicaid, CHIP, or other public sector health programs
  • Exposure to enterprise data reporting tools, dashboards, or quality management platforms
  • Knowledge of performance reporting standards such as HEDIS or CAHPS
