Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to support the development, optimization, and maintenance of a cloud-hosted infrastructure platform supporting healthcare program oversight and performance monitoring. This role will focus on infrastructure design, cloud operations, and data security for a multi-agency solution handling sensitive healthcare data. You will collaborate with backend developers, analysts, and data managers to ensure uptime, scalability, and secure operations of cloud-based systems.

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services in a secure and scalable manner
Support the deployment and hosting of applications and databases used for analytics and reporting
Implement cloud monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure availability and performance
Manage user access, roles, and data security controls, including PHI/PII protection
Assist with DevOps practices, including automation of deployments, backups, and patching
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot infrastructure issues and recommend improvements
Ensure systems meet compliance standards and follow industry best practices for healthcare and government environments

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role
Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP infrastructure services
Expertise in virtual networking, load balancing, compute/storage services, and identity management
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates)
Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipeline tools
Understanding of data encryption, key management, and access control mechanisms
Experience supporting cloud environments that host regulated data (e.g., HIPAA, FedRAMP, NIST frameworks)

Preferred:

Experience in state Medicaid, CHIP, or other public sector health programs
Exposure to enterprise data reporting tools, dashboards, or quality management platforms
Knowledge of performance reporting standards such as HEDIS or CAHPS
