This is a remote position.

Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday 8am - 5pm CST and Friday 8am - 1pm CST with 1 hour unpaid break (8 paid hours per day)

Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Process and manage comprehensive insurance claims for orthodontic treatments and procedures
  • Conduct thorough insurance verification and coordinate pre-authorization requests with insurance providers
  • Navigate and resolve insurance denials through strategic appeals processes and documentation
  • Collaborate with clinical team to align treatment planning with insurance coverage requirements
  • Oversee billing operations and provide expert patient financial coordination and communication
  • Master and utilize TOPS Ortho patient management software for seamless daily operations
  • Independently investigate and resolve complex insurance-related issues using analytical skills
  • Support broader practice operations and contribute to team success as opportunities arise
  • Maintain accurate financial documentation and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations

Requirements
  • Medical or dental billing and insurance coordination experience strongly preferred
  • Proven experience with insurance claims processing, verification, and appeals management
  • HIPAA certification or demonstrated knowledge of healthcare compliance requirements
  • Proficiency with Mac computer systems (essential for TOPS Ortho software compatibility)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with self-directed learning capabilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial and medical documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional insurance company interactions
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and processes through comprehensive training
