Job Description:
We are seeking a highly resourceful, fast-moving, and intuitively sharp assistant to support a Crisis Manager who works at the intersection of media, reputation, and emergency response. This is not your average assistant gig. In this role, you’ll be the first line of contact when a headline breaks or a client crisis emerges — helping assess the situation and initiate swift, smart outreach to individuals or corporate entities in the thick of it.
If you’re the person who always knows what’s going on before it hits the mainstream, loves the rush of real-time decision making, and can communicate with clarity and urgency under pressure — this is your calling.
Responsibilities:
Monitor breaking news, alerts, and social trends to identify individuals or companies facing potential PR, legal, reputational, or operational crises.
Quickly assess and triage the gravity of a developing crisis based on public information and internal guidelines.
Proactively identify and reach out to key individuals (CEOs, communications executives, legal teams, etc.) within affected organizations or situations.
Serve as the calm, composed first point of contact during chaotic moments — representing the crisis manager with professionalism and discretion.
Gather relevant facts and fill out a concise internal lead form to be submitted to the Crisis Manager within minutes or hours of the initial incident.
Maintain a streamlined system for tracking leads, response timelines, and follow-ups.
Collaborate with the Crisis Manager to anticipate needs, schedule follow-ups, and flag high-priority situations.
Requirements
Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments.
Background in media, PR, law, journalism, emergency management, or related fields is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills — especially over the phone and email.
Fearless and respectful in reaching out to high-level executives or individuals in crisis.
Strong judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
Quick on your feet — both in thought and action — with a talent for staying calm under pressure.
Comfortable using news monitoring tools, search engines, and public data to research individuals and situations in real-time.
Available during breaking news cycles, including early mornings or evenings when necessary.
