Spotify is investing in scalable, accountable data infrastructure to support transparency, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across Trust & Safety (T&S). As an Analytics Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping the data ecosystem that powers regulatory reporting, internal analytics, and self-service tools for T&S teams and stakeholders.
You’ll work at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and policy—designing data models, building transformation pipelines, and enabling reliable, accessible insights. You’ll also help standardize metrics and build systems that empower teams to detect issues, evaluate performance, and drive continuous improvement.
This is a critical opportunity to help evolve the foundation of our T&S data stack with lasting impact on safety, compliance, and platform integrity.
What You'll Do
Design and maintain scalable, well-documented data models that support regulatory reporting, operational insights, and platform safety monitoring.
Build and optimize data pipelines using tools such as dbt and BigQuery, ensuring high reliability, performance, and auditability across datasets.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners—including product, legal, policy, and engineering—to translate compliance and transparency requirements into technical solutions.
Establish data definitions, documentation standards, and metric conventions that improve data quality and support long-term maintainability.
Conduct structured reviews of existing analytics infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement in performance, usability, and alignment with evolving reporting needs.
Contribute to the development of a self-service analytics ecosystem by designing intuitive semantic layers and supporting tooling that meet the needs of a broad stakeholder base.
Support the implementation of monitoring and validation frameworks that enable performance tracking, early detection of issues, and structured escalation paths.
Participate in planning and strategy discussions, helping to shape the roadmap for Trust & Safety data architecture and analytics capabilities.
Who You Are
3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or data science, ideally in regulated, safety, or compliance-oriented environments

Experience architecting clean, scalable, and testable data models to support self-service access and regulatory compliance reporting
Familiarity with reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, or equivalent) and BI governance best practices
Excellent cross-functional communication skills and the ability to translate technical detail into meaningful outcomes for legal, policy, and operations stakeholders
Strong organizational awareness—you're able to anticipate reporting needs, validate assumptions, and prioritize among regulatory, operational, and strategic requirements
Passion for transparency, safety, and building data systems that serve social good
