Summary:
The Manager of Ancillary Applications is responsible for overseeing the implementation, support, and maintenance of the ancillary applications within the organization. These applications, which support various non-core hospital or healthcare IT functions, include systems for radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, billing, and other critical services. The Manager of Ancillary Applications ensures that these systems are fully integrated, optimized, and compliant with relevant standards, enabling the efficient operation of ancillary services. The role involves managing a team of application specialists and collaborating with internal stakeholders to assess, implement, and improve technology solutions. The Manager will also be responsible for the day-to-day operations of ancillary application services, managing project timelines, budgets, and ensuring proper documentation and training for staff.
Job Duties:
Oversee the implementation, support, and ongoing maintenance of ancillary applications supporting radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, billing, and other critical healthcare services.
Manage a team of application specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight to ensure effective service delivery.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including clinical and IT teams, to assess technology needs and identify opportunities for system improvements and optimizations.
Ensure ancillary applications are fully integrated with core hospital systems and comply with relevant healthcare standards and regulatory requirements.
Lead and manage projects related to ancillary application implementations, upgrades, and enhancements, including planning timelines, resource allocation, and budget oversight.
Monitor day-to-day operations of ancillary applications, promptly addressing system issues to minimize disruption to clinical and administrative workflows.
Develop and enforce proper documentation standards, including technical procedures, system configurations, and user guides.
Coordinate training programs and resources for staff to ensure proficient use and understanding of ancillary applications.
Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend enhancements that improve ancillary services and operational efficiency.
Communicate effectively with leadership and stakeholders to provide updates on application status, project progress, and risk management.
Responsible for all applications under their leadership (optime/anesthesia/radiant/cupid) and other third-party applications.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as required to support the organization's goals.
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) (Preferred)
Epic application-specific certifications (optime, anesthesia, radiant, cupid).

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Reliable high-speed internet connection is required for all remote/hybrid positions.
Must have access to stable Wi-Fi with sufficient bandwidth to support video conferencing, cloud-based tools, and other online work-related activities.
A HIPAA-compliant work environment is required, including a secure workspace free from unauthorized access or interruptions, no use of public Wi-Fi unless connected through a secure company-provided VPN, and compliance with all applicable HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
