We invite a Senior Automation QA Engineer (REST API, Java) to join the VeliHorizon team.

In this role, you will:

Develop comprehensive automated tests using modern Java, TestNG, and AssertJ
Take ownership of automated test organisation, planning, coverage, and quality automation within your team
Control and ensure quality standards across releases, regular regression cycles, and troubleshooting activities
Automate test scenarios created by manual QA engineers or developed independently
Engage in the planning and oversight of test execution throughout all testing phases
Proactively identify, verify, and report quality issues with detailed analysis
Modernise existing tests by rewriting legacy Groovy tests to Java
Collaborate effectively with QA, Development, and Support teams to maintain quality standards
Contribute to enhancing QA processes and developing quality automation strategies

Skills and experience you will need:

Advanced Java expertise (Java 17+ required): Deep proficiency in building robust, scalable automation frameworks and leading technical decisions
Master-level understanding of software engineering principles (SOLID, DRY, KISS, YAGNI): Essential for developing maintainable test solutions and test framework
Comprehensive HTTP API testing mastery: API validation and integration testing capabilities, performance testing experience are great to have
Strong knowledge of microservice testing strategies: Strong understanding of distributed systems, specific, asynchronous, and eventual api specifics
TestNG framework: Ability to design sophisticated test suites, manage parallel execution, and optimise testing approaches
AssertJ strong knowledge: Creating assertions, fluent interfaces, and comprehensive validation frameworks
Basic SQL knowledge: Database validation, data integrity testing, and backend verification capabilities
Agile quality assurance environment experience: Proven track record of driving quality processes within fast-paced, iterative development cycles, in close collaboration with the product development team
Exceptional analytical and attentive mindset: Advanced troubleshooting skills, root cause analysis expertise, and proactive problem-solving approach
Strong technical and communication skills: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional product teams and communicate effectively to advance the QA automation process within the team
