Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) – Surgical

Tavernier,  FL | Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our surgical team in Key West, FL. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position offering a consistent daytime schedule with no weekend or night shifts.

As a vital member of our surgical team, the NP/PA will provide high-quality, comprehensive care in collaboration with surgeons, supporting patients across the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases. This role involves both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, and offers the opportunity to work directly in the clinic, operating room, and hospital setting.

Qualifications:
  • Current and active Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in the state of Florida.

  • Surgical experience preferred, but not required for the right candidate with strong clinical aptitude.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

  • Excellent communication and clinical documentation skills.

  • Proficiency with or willingness to learn telehealth platforms and technology.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct surgical histories and physical examinations.

  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and labs.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive plans of care.

  • Prescribe medications, including controlled substances (per Delineation of Privileges).

  • First assist in surgical procedures under direct supervision of the surgeon.

  • Perform clinical procedures in both OR and outpatient clinic settings.

  • Conduct inpatient rounding, consultations, wound care, and bedside procedures.

  • Manage outpatient clinics and procedures.

  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families.

Participate in telehealth services as needed via phone or computer-based platforms.
