Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) – Surgical

Tavernier, FL | Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our surgical team in Key West, FL. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position offering a consistent daytime schedule with no weekend or night shifts.

As a vital member of our surgical team, the NP/PA will provide high-quality, comprehensive care in collaboration with surgeons, supporting patients across the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases. This role involves both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, and offers the opportunity to work directly in the clinic, operating room, and hospital setting.

Qualifications:

Current and active Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in the state of Florida.
Surgical experience preferred, but not required for the right candidate with strong clinical aptitude.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Excellent communication and clinical documentation skills.
Proficiency with or willingness to learn telehealth platforms and technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct surgical histories and physical examinations.
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and labs.
Develop and implement comprehensive plans of care.
Prescribe medications, including controlled substances (per Delineation of Privileges).
First assist in surgical procedures under direct supervision of the surgeon.
Perform clinical procedures in both OR and outpatient clinic settings.
Conduct inpatient rounding, consultations, wound care, and bedside procedures.
Manage outpatient clinics and procedures.
Provide education and counseling to patients and their families.
