Job Purpose

As a UI/UX Designer on our Product team, you will lead and coordinate design & product research by owning the execution of all design aspects associated with the UI.

As a core team member of the Product team, you will work closely with engineers and product managers to wireframe ideas and design intuitive and functional user interfaces for warehouse and robotic manufacturing automation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain a business and technical understanding of Onward Robotics
• Collaborate with our product & engineering teams to take an idea from concept to rendering
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs
• Design clean and modern UI mock-ups and organize and manage a component library
• Maintain style system and theme for our applications

Typical Day:

• Attend standups or design reviews with the product and engineering teams
• Collaborate on feature development, turning concepts into wireframes and flows
• Review feedback and iterate on mockups
• Update or maintain the component and style library
• Conduct or analyze user research if applicable
• Sync with engineers on feasibility or styling considerations

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Be proficient in Figma / Sketch
• Experience in wireframing and prototyping
• Experience working closely with the engineering team
• Have experience with modern front-end web technologies
• Be skilled at storytelling and design thinking
• Style system generation and management

Minimum Experience Requirements:

• 4 years of relevant work experience as a UI Designer
• Be proficient in Figma / Sketch
• Experience in wireframing and prototyping
• Experience working closely with the engineering team
• Have experience with modern front-end web technologies
• Be skilled at storytelling and design thinking
• Style system generation and management

Preferred Experience Requirements:

• Web Application styling with styled components
• Experience with CSS, SCSS, stylus
• Experience with javascript / react.js / react-native
• Background in Warehousing or Robotics

Minimum Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field

Preferred Education Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or related discipline
