Position Summary

We are seeking a Head of Clinical Operations to design and lead a scalable, tech-enabled clinical program supporting thousands of pregnant and postpartum individuals annually. This leader will oversee our expanding network of maternal health providers and work cross-functionally to build systems, protocols, and workflows that enable compassionate, high-quality care delivery at scale.

This role combines strategic design with operational execution. The ideal candidate has senior-level clinical operations experience in a high-volume, multi-channel virtual care environment, preferably with Medicaid populations or health plans. They will partner closely with product, data, and executive and clinical leadership to ensure that care delivery, outreach, documentation, and quality systems are integrated and effective.

Key Responsibilities
Program Design & Launch Execution
  • Design and implement clinical workflows across outreach, onboarding, coaching, escalation, and graduation, ensuring clarity and alignment across tools and teams
  • Embed designed workflows into our EMR platform, including configuration and optimization to support program needs and operational efficiency
  • Develop documentation policies, training materials, and call scripts for health coaches conducting outreach, intake, and follow-ups
  • Develop and oversee outreach strategies tailored by member risk level
  • Establish reporting infrastructure to monitor outreach efforts and member progression
  • Co-own and monitor implementation milestones, system configurations, and launch readiness in close collaboration with the COO and engineering teams
Staffing & Supervision
  • Hire, onboard, and manage a high-performing team of health coaches, maternal care providers and QA/training staff
  • Provide oversight and structured support to the clinical leadership team, including mentorship and operational enablement of Clinical teams
  • Define coverage schedules, shift types, and contractual expectations
  • Monitor capacity utilization, call success rates, and performance metrics across regions and time windows
  • Define and implement incentive structures to improve engagement and retention
Quality & Training
  • Develop and deliver QA and training programs including onboarding, shadowing, documentation audits, call review protocols, and escalation workflows
  • Create a scalable supervision process with clear accountability and defined review cadences
  • Ensure alignment between outreach, care delivery, and member messaging across channels 
  • Ensure safety, compliance, and proper documentation of high-risk scenarios 
Cross-Functional & Client Partnership
  • Serve as a key partner to Product, Data, and Marketing to ensure workflows and systems support clinical effectiveness and operational insight
  • Participate in client meetings with health plans, owning select reporting, QA metrics, and strategic recommendations
  • Continuously evaluate and iterate on clinical program performance and member outcomes

Requirements

Required:
  • 7+ years of experience in clinical operations or health program leadership roles
  • Significant experience working with maternal populations in clinical roles
  • Experience scaling virtual care programs and managing distributed clinical teams
  • Strong understanding of care workflows, QA processes, documentation systems, and operational scaling
  • Deep comfort with digital tools, EHRs, telephony systems, and outreach infrastructure
  • Clinical training and licensure (LCSW, RN, CNM, PMHNP, or equivalent)
  • Experience working with Medicaid populations or large health plan contracts
  • Track record of leading successful program launches and delivering measurable impact
  • Experience managing care models for perinatal mental health, social risk, or community-based care
Preferred:
  • Prior experience in health plan engagement or vendor-side delivery for large payers
  • Spanish or Haitian Creole fluency
  • Certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C)
