Job description

Autohive is building the future of AI-driven work automation. Our platform enables users to discover, build, and deploy AI agents that work together to eliminate toil and maximize productivity. We are designing highly scalable AI infrastructure to support this vision—and we need an exceptional engineer to help us do it.

We’re looking for an AI Infrastructure Engineer who is not just skilled in AWS, but deeply understands the nuances of AI service operations. You will manage and optimize cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on AI workloads, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency. This is not a cookie-cutter DevOps role—it requires an engineering mindset, an obsession with automation, and a belief that AI is a tool to accelerate everything (including your own work).

Requirements

What you’ll do:

  • Architect and manage Autohive’s AWS-based infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Deploy and optimize AI workloads using AWS SageMaker, Bedrock, and other AI/ML services.
  • Integrate external AI services (e.g., Azure OpenAI, third-party LLMs) while maintaining a cloud-agnostic mindset.
  • Automate everything—from infrastructure as code (Terraform/CDK) to self-healing systems.
  • Own deployment pipelines and ensure smooth, zero-downtime releases for AI-driven applications.
  • Optimize Linux-based environments, supporting high-performance AI workloads.
  • Work autonomously—you thrive with clear direction but don’t need hand-holding.

Who you are:

  • You have exceptional ability in cloud infrastructure—AWS is your foundation, but you’re adaptable.
  • You understand AI infrastructure—you’ve worked with AI/ML services, or you’re eager to learn and can ramp up fast.
  • You believe AI should be leveraged everywhere—including in your own workflow.
  • You have a strong operational mindset—security, observability, and cost efficiency are always in your considerations.
  • You are a builder—you move fast, solve problems proactively, and don’t wait for perfect conditions.
  • You are fluent in Linux environments and have experience supporting containerized applications.
  • You don’t need to know .NET, but if you do, great.

Benefits

Location & Compensation:

This role is remote-friendly for the right candidate (with timezone overlap with New Zealand) or in-office in Wellington, NZ. Competitive compensation, including equity for exceptional candidates.

If you’ve built something great, show us. Apply now.
