Job description

This is a remote position.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly motivated Cybersecurity Specialist to join our IT security team. In this role, you will be responsible for protecting our organization's digital infrastructure and sensitive information from internal and external threats. You will work closely with IT, development, compliance, and risk management teams to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our systems and data.


Duties
  • Monitor networks and systems for security breaches, incidents, and vulnerabilities.

  • Implement and maintain firewalls, encryption, and other security measures.

  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.

  • Respond to and investigate security incidents, providing detailed reports and mitigation strategies.

  • Maintain and update security policies, protocols, and procedures in compliance with industry standards.

  • Provide training and guidance to employees on cybersecurity awareness and best practices.

  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and consultants on security audits and assessments.

  • Ensure systems and software are updated with the latest security patches and fixes.

  • Assist in disaster recovery planning and business continuity efforts.



Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Proven experience in a cybersecurity role or related IT security field.

  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

  • Proficiency in security tools such as SIEMs, firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and endpoint protection platforms.

  • Hands-on experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or CISM preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
