Job description

This is a remote position.

Overview :

Analyze and interpret complex SQL (potentially even hundreds of lines of SQL codes) to understand business logic and data flows.
Migrate and optimize legacy SQL to AWS-native services like Redshift, including rewrite, validation, and tuning.
Redesign and consolidate legacy queries for better scalability and maintainability.
Collaborate with data engineering and architecture teams on cloud data platform migrations (e.g., Teradata/Hadoop to Redshift).
Ensure reporting continuity post-migration, including dashboard and data pipeline validation.
Perform data analysis to verify accuracy, troubleshoot issues, and support performance optimization.
Engage with stakeholders to clarify data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
Follow best practices in SQL development, data modelling, and query optimization.
Maintain clear documentation on data models, transformation logic, and migration steps.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and delivery.

Requirements

8+ years in data analysis, SQL development with significant exposure to BI and Data migration projects.
Expert-level SQL skills for complex query development and debugging.
Hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift.
Proven experience migrating from Teradata (or similar) to Redshift.
Experience in any one of the following BI tools (Tableau/SAP BO) is a MUST.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with some experience in gathering business requirements.

Nice to Have

Exposure to AWS Glue, S3, Athena.
Experience with Git and CI/CD for data pipelines.
Knowledge of the Insurance (P&C) domain.
