Dick’s Sporting Goods is hiring multiple Remote Principal Creative to support the following teams:
  • DSG
  • Vertical Brands Golf
  • Team Sports

The Principal Graphic Designer is charged with providing the creative vision and leadership on most complex and high-profile creative campaigns and projects. This position is responsible for the design, development and production of campaign and seasonal advertising materials.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Creative Strategy, Art Direction, and Develop Creative Collateral:

  • Provides creative vision and leadership on most complex and high-profile creative projects, guiding the visual style, tone, and messaging to ensure consistency and relevance across all channels.
  • Acts as subject matter expert and best practice leader for creative campaign development
  • Understands and implements creative best practices and brand strategy
  • Pitches ideas that support brand positioning, objectives, and is culturally relevant  
  • Collaborates with photographers and art direct photoshoots to ensure the creative vision aligns with the overall campaign strategy. Provide guidance on composition, lighting, styling, and visual storytelling to achieve high-quality and on-brand imagery.
  • Lead video production efforts, collaborating with videographers and directing video shoots to ensure alignment with the overall creative strategy. Provide guidance on shot composition, lighting, pacing, and storytelling to create visually compelling video content.

Cross Functional Teammates:

  • Collaborates with cross functional DICK’s teammates to deliver campaign objectives
  • Partners with Creative Managers and Creative Directors on campaign themes, visual standards, storyboards, art direction and plans for both in studio and on location photoshoots.
  • Collaborate effectively with other Designers, Marketers, Copywriters, and Production to bring creative visions to life.

Athlete Focus:

  • Champions the athlete in all thought process, creative, design, and final assets
  • Applies brand identity elements to conceptual work and incorporate them across all materials for a consistent athlete experience.

Industry Trends:

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and design best practices to continually elevate our digital creative efforts.
  • Collaborate with AI and machine learning specialists to integrate AI technology into the creative process. Leverage AI tools and platforms to assist in generating innovative and data-informed creative content, while ensuring that the output aligns with the brand's vision and objectives.

Mentoring Teammates:

  • Holding periodic formal reviews for development talent
  • Mentor, train, develop and manage day-to day activities of creative pooled resources group.  They also encourage others to seek opportunities for different and innovative approaches to addressing problems and opportunities; facilitates the implementation and acceptance of change within the organization.          
  • Be the subject matter expert on all systems and processes used within Graphic Design and share experiential knowledge with the members of the team.  Participate in special projects, key initiatives, and system updates as requested by Director of Creative.
  • Provide pool group teammates with timely and regular feedback to support associate development/ growth in role.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Adobe Creative Suite- InDesign, Bridge, Illustrator, Photoshop, AfterEffects, Premiere

  • Bachelor's Degree in Art/Graphic Design, Business, Marketing, Communications or related field

  • 7 - 10 years' Experience delivering creative solutions from concept to final execution

  • Strong portfolio; leader of people preferred 

Targeted Pay Range: $76,500.00 - $124,600.00. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
