About the Adult and Family Services (AFS) Therapy Program

The Adult and Family Services (AFS) Therapy Program is the outpatient therapy department of ReDiscover. This program provides support to clients from all backgrounds, ages, needs, and often to those who have difficulties seeking treatment elsewhere. The AFS Therapy Program provides both telehealth and in-person sessions which gives clinical staff flexibility to work from home a few days each week.

What You’ll Do

  • Direct supervisory responsibilities including supervision of assigned department staff, development meetings, as well as attending quarterly supervisor meetings.
  • Develops a work culture of coaching and professional growth for staff that builds trust and support within the team.
  • Fostering a creative and safe therapeutic environment where clients can engage and interact with staff and other clients.
  • Develop rapport and assure compliance with the standards, regulations, and laws of the DEA, Department of Mental Health and CARF accreditation.
  • Educate and reduce the stigma within the community on substance use treatment.
  • Significant cooperation with internal and external sources to ensure that the services provided are of the highest quality, accessible in a timely fashion, and produce positive outcomes for those we serve.
  • Provides feedback and reports to appropriate management staff and, as appropriate, to funding sources.
  • Actively participate in a variety of cross-functional teams and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collect and maintain information about clients and document interactions within ReDiscover’s designated electronic medical record.


Requirements of the Position

  • Master’s degree in a social science field as defined by the Department of Mental Health that would qualify for licensure in the State of Missouri.
  • Must have a valid clinical license in the State of Missouri (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PMHNP).
  • At least two (2) years of clinical experience in a direct service provision to adults and/or children in a mental health setting is required.
  • At least two (2) years of supervisory and management of mid-level employees experience is required.
  • A valid automobile driver’s license, appropriate automobile insurance and a safe, reliable, registered automobile available for use during work
  • Working knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders
  • Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus
  • Strong  written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as GSuite
