As a Senior Threat Researcher at Ping, you will proactively investigate, identify, and analyze emerging cyber threats, transforming complex threat data into actionable insights for our customers. Leveraging extensive data sources including Ping’s data lake, intelligence reports, industry trust groups, and proprietary resources, you will continuously monitor and interpret the evolving cyber threat landscape with an emphasis on fraud and identity security.



Essential Qualifications:

  • A hacker’s soul - Experience thinking like an adversary, breaking and building
  • Proven track record in cybersecurity or fraud analysis with comprehensive knowledge of current attack methods, techniques, tactics, and procedures (TTPs), and indicators of compromise (IOCs).
  • Minimum of two years' experience in product-oriented data analytics, feature engineering, data science, or threat research.
  • In-depth understanding of web architectures and design patterns, including REST APIs, the OSI Model (particularly TLS protocols), microservices architecture, client-side JavaScript, DNS, and PKI.
  • Practical experience with web applications development.
  • Self-motivated and capable of independent operation with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, adept at thriving in dynamic team environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
  • Fluent verbal and written communication in English.

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with identity management protocols such as OAuth2/OIDC, WebAuthn, and Kerberos.
  • Extensive knowledge of identity-related cyber threats and attack methodologies, including New Account Fraud, Credential Stuffing, Account Takeover, Phishing, and MFA Fatigue.
  • Hands-on experience with web and mobile automation frameworks, such as Selenium and Playwright.
  • Expertise in browser fingerprinting techniques and JavaScript API security considerations.
  • Formal education or advanced certification in cybersecurity.
