Job Summary:

We are looking for a strategic, experienced, and compliance-savvy Content Lead to guide our content efforts in the pharmaceutical marketing space. This role is responsible for developing and executing a robust content strategy that supports brand positioning, engages healthcare professionals (HCPs), and meets regulatory and legal standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in medical communications, outstanding writing and editorial skills, and the ability to manage a high-performing content team that develops shortform SMS content across multiple therapeutic areas.

  

Duties/ Responsibilities:

Content Strategy & Development

  • Develop and lead content creation for pharmaceutical brand(s), collaborating with Client Services (CS) to understand the brand goals and content guardrails, ensuring continuity in the HCP journey.
  • Translate complex scientific and clinical data into clear, engaging, and compliant short form content for targeted audiences.
  • Ensure all content adheres to medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) review processes, internal guardrails, and evolving best practices based on HCP preference and performance data

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with CS leads to understand breadth of content needed, brand strategic imperatives/challenges and goal of campaign, incorporating these to create a compelling content journey for target HCPs 
  • Work closing with data and analytics teams to understand content performance; updating content best practices and guardrails based on data
  • Support the sales team in pitch preparation and RFP creation through relevant and strategic mockup creation based on brand briefs and provided HCP assets

Innovation & Quality Control

  • Stay up-to-date with pharmaceutical marketing trends, digital engagement tactics, and therapeutic landscape developments.
  • Drive content innovation while ensuring rigorous regulatory standards are met.
  • Constant research of treatment landscape within relevant client therapeutic areas

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, MPH, MS) or medical writing certification (AMWA) is a plus.
  • 5+ years in content strategy, editorial, or copywriting roles within the pharmaceutical or healthcare marketing industry.
  • 2+ years of team leadership experience, preferably in an agency or in-house pharma marketing setting.
  • Proven experience navigating MLR review processes and working within regulatory frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of pharma marketing channels and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and scientific communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Veeva PromoMats, Adobe Experience Manager, or other pharma CMS/workflow tools.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate effectively with both creative and scientific stakeholders.
