  • Manage ongoing care for patients with various neuromuscular and pain conditions.
  • Perform procedures such as Botox injections and pump refills.

Summary of Job Duties:
This UAMS Department of Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation Hourly Physician Instructor position will provide weekend inpatient consult coverage, resident supervision of outpatient EMG procedures, and provide ongoing care for patients with a wide variety of musculoskeletal neuromuscular and pain conditions. Conditions treated include traumatic brain injury, acquired brain injury, anoxic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, neuro-oncology diagnoses, neuromuscular disorders, cerebral palsy, neuromuscular disorders, burn injuries, chronic pain, limb deficiency and functional neurologic disorders. Procedures include Botox injections, intrathecal baclofen pump refills and phenol injections. The candidate will need to be committed to being part of an internationally recognized organization that is focused on providing the best care for patients through a strong interdisciplinary approach.

Qualifications:
  • Applicants must possess an MD or DO from an accredited medical school and have (or be eligible to obtain) an unrestricted Arkansas Medical License
  • Candidates must also be board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
