As the Safety Human Performance Specialist you will play a crucial role in fostering a work environment where safety and human behaviour go hand in hand. The core role is to analyse how people interact with systems, tasks, and environments. The role a part of the European Regional HSE team and supports all the  manufacturing and commercial(offices, Sales, Warehouses) to develop strategies that minimize error, enhance decision-making, and improve overall safety culture. The role blends psychological insight with operational expertise to design interventions, training programs, and processes that support safe behaviours while acknowledging human limitations. Ultimately, the role serves as a bridge between safety protocols and the realities of human performance, helping  MEU reduce incidents and promote resilience through smarter, people-centred safety practices.

How you will contribute

You will:

  • Develop and support implementation of effective engagement with plant and commercial  team on safety programmes supporting zero harm journey
  • Building enduring capabilities to help all embed and manage day to day risks in operations by offering a blend of training, coaching and mentoring support to HSE team members designated as investigators
  • Manage behavioural based/ human performance safety tools and workbooks, BOS, QRP, Hazard awareness training etc to encourage usage, promote findings, coach leadership usage and embedment
  • Work with plants and commercial teams to:
    • Reduce mistakes by focusing on error provoking conditions and systemic causes to make them likely to occur
    • Avoid human involvement and provide controls to make tasks inherently safe or improve reliability
    • Improve regularly used tools, systems, tasks procedures and equipment
  • Co-ordinate implementation of all health and safety programs and processes. Prepare and build consensus annual plans for facility/function wide health and safety initiatives
  • Plan/Budget/Control annual HSE training budget to enable execution of the HSE plan and adherence to all internal and external compliance standards
  • Support appropriate risk assessments are conducted and follow ups implemented to minimize or eliminate accidents, asset losses that might cause harm to one of the company’s employees, contractors, visitors
  • Ensure that the appropriate talent is in place through training, mentoring, and succession planning and supports development and learning capabilities of MEU teams
  • Ensure training and coaching are taking place to drive a safety-perfect culture and to ensure safety standards and awareness are well understood throughout the plant organization
  • Build human performance understanding helping drive next level thinking and continuous improvement in the HS function

What you will bring

  • Experience in a Behavioural Safety/Human Performance role
  • Excellent spoken English
  • Previous experience in a similar role
