Job Title: Test Engineer

Our Team is currently hiring for a Test Engineer to support the testing efforts for a legacy system under the Consolidated Corporate Support Services ProgramThe Test Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of testing procedures to ensure the quality and functionality of our advanced software systems.

This role requires a high degree of technical expertise and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, remote team environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to excellence and innovation in the field of software testing.
 

 
 
Duties/Responsibilities: 

 

  • Design, develop, and implement testing methods, equipment, and test cases to ensure product performance meets specifications. 
  • Plan and coordinate testing schedules, resources, and environments. 
  • Develop and execute test plans, scripts, scenarios, and test cases for functional, regression, and deployment testing. 
  • Perform manual and automated testing of integrations, interfaces, data transfers, APIs, and web services. 
  • Conduct end-to-end software testing lifecycle activities, including defect logging, root cause analysis, and verification of defect closure. 
  • Execute database testing using SQL queries and scripts. 
  • Analyze test results, manage defects, and maintain test documentation including Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM). 
  • Use tools such as Jira and X-RAY to manage test artifacts and execution. 
  • Participate in product walkthroughs and collaborate with development and requirements teams. 
  • Monitor and improve testing processes through analysis of failures, throughput, and yield. 
  • Utilize CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, GitHub) and work within AWS cloud environments. 

 

Success Factors: 

  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Proficiency in both manual and automated testing techniques and tools. 
  • Deep understanding of integration requirements and mapping to user stories and acceptance criteria. 
  • Experience with web service testing tools (e.g., Ready API, Postman, Wave, AMP). 
  • Commitment to continuous improvement in testing processes and quality assurance practices. 
  • Strong organizational skills to manage test planning, execution, and reporting across multiple projects. 

Qualifications 

Bachelor's with 2 - 5 years (or commensurate experience) 

Required Skills and Experience 

  • Experience in Manual, Integration, and Functional Testing. 
  • Experience assisting with UAT. 
  • Extensive Jira experience building test plans, issues and executions and creating report outputs. 

Preferred Skills and Experience 

  • Experience with VA and/or other Federal Agencies. 
  • Demonstrated experience in a remote work environment.  
  • Well versed in Agile/Scrum methodology.
