Summary:  
We are searching for the ideal candidate to join a fast growing, publicly traded company with a mission to manage waste and divert waste from landfills efficiently and cost effectively. As someone on the enterprise project management team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with
 Quest team members from every department, develop an understanding of every facet of how to manage a business, drive tangible results via mission critical projects, interact directly with the C-suite and contribute to our overall strategy.

As a Project Manager SkillBridge Intern, you will assist with important projects that help our organization succeed in the long term. This internship gives you practical experience in project management, working closely with the Corporate Development team and company leaders. You will take part in all stages of a project, including planning, starting, carrying out, managing changes, and finishing. You will also learn how to track project returns on investment (ROI), develop key performance indicators (KPIs), plan resources, and understand best practices from the Project Management Office (PMO). This is a visible role that is ideal for transitioning service members who have experience in managing complex projects, leading teams, or overseeing operations.

This position is great for people who have strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills and want to use these skills in a corporate environment.
  • Lead and execute cross-functional strategic projects, by applying enterprise project management tools and methodologies
  • Oversee and ensure successful delivery throughout entire project lifecycle, including planning, mobilization, execution, risk management, resource allocation, implementation, change management and hypercare
  • Make sure projects are completed on time, on budget and with quality
  • Align project goals with organizational objectives and strategic priorities
  • Set up projects for success by creating plans that minimize risks, optimize resources and have clear, measurable goals
  • Identify, escalate appropriately and develop mitigation plans for project risks (to timing, budget or quality)
  • Regularly assess project progress, including the formulation and tracking of ROI and KPIs
  • Uphold ePMO best practices
  • Lead cross-functional teams cooperatively and effectively, facilitating interdepartmental workgroups and communication to set goals, resolve conflicts and make decisions. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related analyses or work products as needed
  • Interact closely and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders. Use negotiation skills to overcome blockers and drive projects forward
  • Make informed decisions on project trade-offs
  • Other duties and projects as assigned and required of the business

Other:  
Not all internships include certification training by Vets2PM, as many host companies include their own internship-focused training instead.
