Job description

Join MAPEI Corporation, a global leader in the manufacturing of construction chemicals and building materials, including adhesives, sealants, and specialty products used in flooring, tile, and concrete restoration. MAPEI is seeking a Category Manager, Raw Materials to lead strategic sourcing and supplier management across a defined portfolio of raw materials.


Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate contracts with vendors on price, schedule, quality, and terms to support cost-effective procurement.
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies in coordination with Central Purchasing, Operations, Logistics, and R&D.
  • Reduce reliance on sole-source suppliers and ensure continuous material availability for production.
  • Collaborate with R&D to identify and qualify alternative raw materials and packaging solutions.
  • Monitor supplier performance, conduct audits, and drive corrective actions as needed.
  • Support budgeting, reporting, and KPI tracking using MAPEI systems and tools.
  • Assist with vendor setup, specification management, and resolution of payment or quality issues.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules and instructions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • ​Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University and two years relevant industry experience or a minimum of ten years related experience and/or training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint within a Windows environment - Knowledge 365 or Dynamics AX is a plus.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Ability to travel 10-15%
