Software Development Specialist - 25-05417

NTT DATA's Client is seeking a Software Development Specialist to design, develop, and support interfaces using HL7 v2.x, HL7 v3, FHIR, and custom APIs.
Configure and maintain healthcare integration engines (Rhapsody preferred, others acceptable).
Translate business requirements into technical solutions focused on healthcare data exchange.
Collaborate with internal and client teams to implement real-time and batch integration workflows.
Ensure compliance with healthcare standards (HIPAA, HL7, FHIR) and best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve interface issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Create and maintain technical documentation for interfaces and data mappings.
Work closely with provider data teams to integrate and normalize provider records across systems.

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in HL7 development and integration.
  • 3+ Strong proficiency in HL7 v2.x (ADT, ORU, ORM, etc.) and FHIR standards.
  • 3+ Hands-on experience with Rhapsody Integration Engine or similar platforms (e.g., Cloverleaf, Mirth/NextGen Connect, Ensemble).
  • 2+ Solid understanding of healthcare provider data structures and workflows.
  • 1+ Familiarity with APIs (REST, SOAP), XML, JSON, and related healthcare data formats.
  • 3+ Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java for interface customization.
  • 3+ Experience working with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech is a plus.
  • 3+ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

The starting hourly range for this remote role is $55 to $65.  This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations.
