This position is for a Compliance Specialist. Compliance is often viewed as behind the scenes; however, Compliance is front and center to protect the services our organization provides to our clients and their patients. While we work in a complex and ever-changing industry, our commitment to conducting business honestly, ethically, and in compliance remains constant.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in the day-to-day operations of the Compliance Department including audits, internal controls, safety reporting/Pharmacovigilance, document control, training, risk management, vendor risk analysis, business continuity, nonconformance, CAPA program, security questionnaires, and trend reporting.
Verifies compliance with contractual requirements including SLAs, security, privacy, data retention, and safety reporting/Pharmacovigilance requirements.
Verifies compliance with regulations by state and federal agencies including HIPAA, GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, Antikickback Statue, Stark Law, Medicare/Medicaid billing, CCPA, and other privacy laws.
Stays informed of applicable rule and regulation changes in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.
Collaborates with various teams and staff across the organization.
Maintains data in Compliance & Privacy logs.
Performs internal reviews, research, and/or internal audits to verify compliance with government laws/regulations, client requirements, accreditations/certifications, audit frameworks, and/or organizational policies/procedures.
Receives, investigates, and resolves compliance and/or privacy related complaints or concerns.
Tracks identified nonconformances through defined workflows.
Conducts HIPAA breach risk assessment.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, conferences, and certifications.
Serves as a liaison, provides service information, answers questions, and supports team members and colleagues.
Applies compliance principles and best practices to a wide variety of scenarios. Demonstrates a thorough working understanding of compliance issues, their importance, and consequences.
Must have a positive attitude, gets work done and motivates others to do the same without dwelling on the challenges that inevitably come up in any job.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications/Requirements:
CHC or other relevant certifications preferred.
Computer skills required: Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio. Experience with Jira Service Desk a plus.
