Interoperability Consultant - Clinical Data Exchange

We are seeking a detail-oriented Interoperability Consultant to support clinical data exchange initiatives across healthcare organizations. This is a non-development role focused on provider engagement, gap analysis, configuration, and support of data exchange interfaces. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of clinical data standards and proven experience working with provider groups to enable interoperability and data sharing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a liaison between internal teams and provider organizations to support clinical data exchange efforts.
  • Conduct gap analysis of existing interfaces and workflows to assess interoperability readiness.
  • Configure and troubleshoot clinical data exchange connections (e.g., HL7v2, CCDA).
  • Write and execute SQL queries to analyze and validate clinical data sets.
  • Interpret and work with clinical coding systems such as LOINC, CPT, CVX, and others.
  • Support onboarding and ongoing relationship management with provider groups.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, mappings, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Collaborate with technical and clinical teams to ensure data quality and compliance.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Strong clinical domain knowledge and familiarity with healthcare data workflows.
  • Hands-on experience working with clinical data standards (HL7v2 and/or CCDA).
  • Working knowledge of canonical clinical coding systems such as LOINC, CPT, CVX.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and validating healthcare data.
  • Direct experience collaborating with provider organizations or healthcare delivery networks.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with HL7 FHIR standards and implementation use cases.
  • Understanding of HEDIS measures, Value-Based Care (VBC) initiatives, or Risk Adjustment programs.
  • Experience working with Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), ACOs, or payer-provider interoperability projects.
