As SIXT Van & Truck continues to expand its presence across the UK, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Flagship Senior Depot Manager to lead one of our most critical locations. In this pivotal role, you will take full ownership of depot operations, overseeing and developing a team of departmental managers across the Hire Desk, Workshop, Damage, and Conversion teams. You’ll be responsible for driving operational performance, ensuring exceptional service quality, improving profitability, and fostering a high-performing team culture. Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead, coach, and develop departmental managers (Hire Desk, Workshop, Damage, and Conversion) to deliver operational excellence.
    • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture across all teams.
    • Ensure alignment and synergy across departments to support seamless customer service and operational efficiency.
  • Operational Oversight
    • Ensure daily operations run smoothly and safely, meeting or exceeding service standards.
    • Monitor and manage workflow distribution, resource allocation, and departmental productivity.
    • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives across all operational areas.
  • Financial Performance
    • Drive depot profitability through effective cost control, resource planning, and margin improvement.
    • Manage depot budget, monitor financial KPIs, and take corrective actions where needed.
    • Identify opportunities for growth, efficiency, and revenue enhancement.
  • Customer Experience
    • Champion exceptional service delivery for all customers
    • Ensure rapid and professional response to issues, minimizing vehicle downtime and customer disruption.
    • Maintain high standards of vehicle quality, availability, and turnaround times.
  • Compliance & Standards
    • Ensure adherence to health and safety, environmental, and legal standards.
    • Maintain rigorous control of damage, servicing, and conversions to protect company assets and brand reputation.

Qualifications

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in senior depot or branch management within the automotive, vehicle rental, fleet, or logistics sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple department heads or functional managers.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of building cohesive, high-performing teams.
  • Financially astute with experience managing P&L, cost control, and profitability.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make confident, strategic decisions.

Desirable Attributes

  • Background in long-term vehicle rental, leasing, or commercial vehicle operations.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, damage control, and workshop management processes.
