Job description

Indigo Research seeks a Research Mentor with expertise in Global or International Security and Cybercrime. Our mentors support high school students worldwide in learning academic research skills, guiding them through projects such as literature reviews, research papers, and data-driven analyses.As an Indigo Research Mentor, you will work remotely and connect with students via video call. You will guide them through the research and writing process, with the goal of helping them complete and publish a small independent research project, such as a literature review, research paper, or even an App! Through your guidance and mentorship, you will help students develop their skills, discover their passions, and unlock their potential.

Qualifications:

  • PhD candidates, Postdoctoral Research Fellows, Lecturers, or Professors studying or currently employed at US top 30 or UK top 20 universities
  • Master’s students studying at US top 20 or UK top 10 universities
  • A high degree of empathy and deep cross-cultural comfort when working with high-school students
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and implementing changes
  • Flexible when working in a start-up environment
  • Sound judgment and knowing when to ask for support!
  • Expertise in global security, international security, conflict studies, cybercrime, global risks, nonproliferation and terrorism studies, global governance or related fields.
