Legal & Compliance Director – Belgium

Inetum is a leading European provider of digital services and solutions. To support our strong growth in Belgium, we are seeking our future Legal & Compliance Director, a key member of both the Belgian leadership team and the Group Legal Department.

Your Mission

As the principal legal point of contact for all Group activities in Belgium, you will play both a strategic and hands-on role, working closely with our commercial, financial, quality, security, and IT teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the legal governance of the Belgian entity, including mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructuring
• Leading the negotiation of complex contracts (IT, digital, partnerships, etc.)
• Advising the Belgian General Management and operational teams on tenders, legal risks, and compliance matters
• Implementing the Group’s compliance program within Belgium
• Managing litigation and data protection (GDPR) issues
• Supervising a senior legal counsel based in Belgium.

You will also support the company’s core functions (sales, quality, security, finance, operations) on IT and digital transformation projects, as well as regulatory matters such as data privacy, cybersecurity, and operational resilience.

In close collaboration with Area and Country Legal Directors, and under the supervision of the Group Legal Department, you will contribute to cross-functional initiatives at both Benelux and Group levels, including:

• Developing innovative legal frameworks aligned with Inetum’s transformation (AI, IP rights, big data, etc.)
• Proposing and leading initiatives to help legal teams build expertise in emerging business areas
• Driving the digitalization of the legal function (legal tech, e-signature, AI, etc.)
• Designing training programs and conducting legal watch to support the evolution of the legal profession

Your Profile

• Advanced legal education with a minimum of 15 years’ experience
• Proven track record as a Legal Director in Belgium
• Strong command of contract law, business law, and digital law
• Solid knowledge of international compliance standards (FCPA, UK Bribery Act, Sapin II)
• Familiarity with GDPR and European regulatory frameworks
• Broad understanding of IT and digital transformation projects
• Pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset with strong risk analysis skills
• Excellent interpersonal, writing, and organizational abilities
• Fluency in French, English, and Dutch is essentialWhat We Offer
