Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant to join our team in Baghdad. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in financial management, with proficiency in both Zoho and QuickBooks systems. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects while developing strategic financial solutions in a growing market.

Requirements

  • Manage and execute comprehensive accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger operations.
  • Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with Iraqi labor laws and tax regulations.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for management decision-making.
  • Develop and implement efficient accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and prepare variance analyses.
  • Create and follow up on client invoices, ensuring timely collection and healthy cash flow.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and tax filings.
  • Travel to project sites across Iraqi provinces as needed (approximately 25% travel).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certification (CPA or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience in Iraq.
  • Advanced proficiency in both Zoho and QuickBooks accounting software.
  • Strong knowledge of Iraqi tax laws, financial regulations, and IFRS.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (written and verbal).
