This role requires someone with experience in organizational finances, who can take ownership of ensuring that the company’s income and expenditure are meeting targets, that departments are controlled in their spending, and that all regulatory reporting and processes are fulfilled within required deadlines. A strong applicant will have the inherent ability to ensure compliance with emerging and evolving regulations, and will also be able to use their knowledge and experience to advice financial policy for the organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and management of budgets and forecasts.

  • Monitor cash flow and maintain liquidity for operational needs.

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with other departments to support business operations and growth.

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to assist in decision-making.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of tax returns and other statutory filings.

  • Manage audits, both internal and external, and address findings promptly.

  • Ensure adherence to payroll laws and regulations.

  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and data integrity.

 Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • At least 1 years’ experience at a managerial level in a finance department.

  • Strong numerical analysis skills.

  • Intermediate or advanced level skills with MS Excel & Google Sheets.

  • Experience with budgeting for departments and staying on budget.

  • Experience monitoring cashflow across an organization.

  • Experience with tax reporting (preparation and audit)- California taxes.

  • Experience with QuickBooks.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
