Department Overview

CPaaS is seeking a Business Operations Team Leader to manage and optimize the operations of our rapidly growing business unit. CPaaS operates as a small but dynamic business unit within Rakuten Symphony’s Internet Services Business Unit, delivering a cloud messaging platform for enterprise clients.

Position Details

The Business Operations Team Leader is responsible for controlling and improving organizational operation and efficiency by streamlining business processes, enhancing cross-functional coordination, and ensuring alignment between business plans and execution. This role is ideal for a proactive, analytical, and people-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
 

Main responsibilities
Lead business analytics for pricing, costs, and customer/supplier-related expenses.
Manage partner operations and ensure accurate, timely data flow across functions.
Oversee CPaaS financial operations: including payments, purchase orders, invoice generation and validation.
Own CPaaS P&L, budget planning, forecasting, and resource planning.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures, KPIs, and reporting tools to monitor business performance.
Act as the primary liaison with internal stakeholders and governance teams, including procurement and compliance and others
Serve as the main point of contact for external stakeholders.
Support and back up the CPaaS Finance Controller as needed.
Evaluate vendors and tools to ensure cost-effective, scalable operations.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience and knowledge:
Strong business savvy, with proven ability and experience in understanding business dynamics and deal structures.
Proven experience in business financial controlling or related fields.
Fluent in Japanese and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
A “people person” who enjoys building relationships and bringing a positive, solutions-driven mindset to every interaction.
Experienced manager with a strong desire to learn, grow, and contribute to business success.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

Years of experience: 3 years

Regarding qualifications: a business or financial degree is a plus
