A caregiver in this role will support the Specialty Pharmacy team, primarily based at Cleveland Clinic Administrative Campus, with most work performed remotely. The caregiver in this role will be assigned to a team that includes pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, including designated leads for both roles. This specializes in managing patients with specific disease states, including neurology, infectious diseases, growth hormone therapy, and cardiology. The caregiver will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, care coordinators, and other healthcare providers to support comprehensive patient care focused on managing complex cancer treatments, chemotherapy, and supportive care. This remote position will focus on patient education, medication optimization, and healthcare team collaboration.

 

A caregiver in this position works fully remote following a 90–day new hire period. This position will work 8 hour shifts between the hours of 7:00AM – 6:00PM, with minimal on-call requirements.  

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services. 

  • Verify medication orders and/or dispenses medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.  

  • Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner. 

  • Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives. 

  • Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards. 

  • Directs staff appropriately to provide safe and efficient care and maintain professional working relationships with all caregivers. 

  • Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers and/or patients.  

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy 

  • Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire 

  • Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Preferred certifications include CSP, MSCS (Multiple Sclerosis), AAHIVP, or ASHP certification.

  • Prior experience in a specialty pharmacy preferred ((i.e. Critical Care, Oncology)

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time. 

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

  • Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.

  • Must have normal or corrected vision.

  • Must have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person
